About The Book
The fazaail.e-Aamaal, of Hadhrat Sheikhul Hadeeth, Moulana Muhammad Zakariyya Kaandelwi (RA), is among the most famous and well read Islamic books in the world. Allah Ta’ala has granted this book great acceptance to read this book daily and benefit from it. To date, it has been translated into more than a dozen languages.
The booklet in your hands is an abridged, simplified version of the original kitaab. The purpose of simplifying this book was mainly to target the younger children making it easier for them to understand and comprehend the Mubarak Ahadith of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi wasallam). By reading out the Fazaail to the children will be a means of encouraging them to engage in A’amaale saliha.
This book is divided into 7 parts, viz.
- Stories of Sahaabah, Virtues of Salaah,
- Virtues of reciting the Qur-aan,
- Virtues of zikr,
- Virtues of Ramdhaan and
- Virtues of tableegh.
A part of each section should be read out and explained daily to the children.
It is hoped that Insha Allah, by reading these Ahaadith daily to the children, the love for Deen will be created in them and they will be motivated towards doing good aamal.
May Allah Ta’ala accept this humble effort and make it a means of attaining the everlasting pleasure of Allah Ta’ala.
About The Author
Hadhrat Moulana Muhammad Zakariyyah Kandhelwiwas born in the village of Kandhal (in Uttar Pradesh, India) on Ramadan 1315 AH (1898 CE).
His full name was Muhammad Zakariyya ibn Muhammad Yahya ibn Muhammad Isma‘il, and his lineage continues all the way back to Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), the great Companion of the Messenger (upon him be peace).
He spent 55 years teaching Ahaadith. of which 45 years were spent in teaching Bukhari Sharif. As an author he wrote many important books. Awjazul-Masaalik, commentary of Muatta Imam Malik in fifteen volumes and La’miud-Dirari, commentary of Sahih-al-Bukhari, consisting of over ten volumes. He has also written a compilation of books on virtues in various different subjects.
In the last century, India has undoubtedly become an important center for the study of hadith, and the scholars of India have become well-known for their passion for religious knowledge. Upon them ended the era of leadership in teaching hadiths, the codification of the special fields (funun) of hadith, and commentary upon its texts (mutun).
He was given the honorary title of Shaykh al-Hadith, or “Great Scholar of Hadith,” by his teacher, Shaykh Khalil Ahmad Saharanpuri, who recognized his deep insight, clear-sightedness, and extensive knowledge of hadith and related sciences.
